Financial Times article extensively features Edwards Gibson Director on record partner pay at leading UK law firms

Edwards Gibson is pleased that Director, Scott Gibson, has been quoted in the Financial Times article ‘Top UK law firm partners take home record pay’ by Suzi Ring, examining the latest financial results of the UK’s leading law firms.  

The piece reports that partners at firms including Linklaters, Clifford Chance, A&O Shearman, Ashurst and Simmons & Simmons received record levels of remuneration, supported in part by a resurgence in Asian capital markets activity and related transactional work. 

Drawing on commentary from Scott, the article highlights the uneven nature of the current legal market. While many firms reported revenue growth, Scott notes that, for some firms, lower single-digit increases are largely attributable to pricing discipline and inflationary rate rises rather than significant underlying demand growth.
